Not Surprising Facts

After watching this i heard things i already knew about our community. I was only surprised by the fact that "white America" is just now finding our culture so appealing. this has been a issue in the black community for as long as i can remember, but it seems that when Tyler Perry hit the big screen & left the stage behind him black people are a trendy topic. that movement along with the seal of approval Oprah (almost as good as the lord appove signing off it) Now our issues are on the 9 O'clock news and topics of ABC specials.  

I watched this video with my boyfriend and we discussed it for about oh about 5 mins and we agreed that our generations (those born in the 80's & above) weren't brought up the way our parents were in the way of manners and a drive to be great. we instead settle for average or below. Our community has no respect for itself. It seems as though the black man is more into the get rich quick scams, drug dealing, or trying to be like everyones favorite rapper, who is now incarcerated. Using excuses as to why they choose not to try to be better than they're surroundings. I'm scared to think of how this new generation will turn out seeing as how most of their parents were kids themselves when they were born.

      ps I could go on forever on this topic and I do realize i didn't really touch bass on black women and our hang ups. 
            I'll save that for another post and instead live you with this: think about the songs you listen to the shows you watch and then see how it has reflected on your life. 
          PLEASE RESPECT YOURSELF AND OTHERS BLACK MEN & WOMEN WE CAN DO BETTER!

BEST VACATION

While on vacation with "The Boo"  we decided to hit up Atlantic city for the weekend....

The few of the ocean from the suite was amazing even in the pitch black-ness of the evening. We had the best time, we had even more fun after we left the hotel room ; ) 

Even with the temp of 40 degrees we walked the boardwalk hand in hand for a late dinner

 it was really nice out cause the wind wasn't whipping the cold air in our faces 

so you couldn't really til it was sooo cold out.

 After asking directions to the restaurant for a second time & getting more confused we walked the sidewalks of the deserted shops and outlets Atlantic City had to offer figuring we'd wonder into the apple bees eventually. 

Finally we made it to the restaurant where dinner was so so but a great time was had thanks to patron margaritas & the boo (we always have fun together) no surprise there. Mistakenly taking the entrance door out of the restaurant we stared directly at the trump plaza aka our hotel seeing as how it was directly across the damn street!

 & we walked over 5 blocks to get across the street lol 

blame the locals for bad directions. 

All in all we had a fantastic stay won lots at the casino that night after dinner. we spent the next day seeing sights (that i have no pictures of because my camera was acting a fool on me) and ended with a nice lunch at PFchangs before driving home.

 jus wanted to update real quick my desk top ruined my life by crashing in mid December hints tha extreme lack of post so this is tha first of 2010 HAPPY NEW YEAR!! lol 

any way i've decided to do a weekly post about hair care but not jus how to care for natural hair because although im natural i wasn't always and for tha women who choose to continue to perm their hair need hair care tips as well so i'll give all tha knowledge i've acquired while i attended cosmetology school

(i plan to return to finish very soon). 

 ima thinkin fridays will be my hair care post day.

 gotta think of a catchy friday hair care sol gain.

Im really excited about nicole Richie return to the small screen. 

The last time we saw her on a reality show, she was running  around with Paris Hilton on “The Simple Life.” Now, our favorite diva gone domestic,Nicole Richie, is gearing up for the small screen. Star magazine reports that Ritchie and fiance, Joel Madden are in talks to debut a reality show. Instead of simply following them around, the show will feature Ritchie and Madden as hosts of  an informal talk show where guests pop by the star’s home to talk about recent projects. The concept allows the mother of two to combine work and and mommy-hood brilliantly. Stay tuned for word on when the show will begin airing.
